The Orlando Magic is a bad team, and that’s an understatement. Their best player is Nikola Vucevic, and that is just sad. They have Aaron Gordon who is likely on the way out, and I would not be surprised if they trade Nikola for some young talent or even a second draft pick. Now the Magic need a guard who has playmaking ability, and if Luka Doncic is available by the fourth pick, they will probably trade up, so the Mavs do not take him. But since I am doing this with no trades, I doubt they would reach and get a playmaking guard such as Trae Young or Collin Sexton. Orlando loves having a dominant big man. They had two of the most physically strongest and most athletic centers of all time, Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard.

With the 6thoverall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select…

Wendell Carter. Carter is one of the strongest big men in this draft and is often overlooked because of his teammate Marvin Bagley. Carter played alongside Bagley and still averaged 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. This is huge, as his long 6’10 frame allows him to protect the rim and grab rebounds, not to mention he is fast for a big man and fits well with the speed of the modern NBA. Carter averaged 2.1 blocks a game and was established as one of the best paint protecting centers in the league. However, he did not have too great of a season when it came to guarding the pick and roll, and this will need some work. This can be hidden by the Magic’s very good defensive rookie, Jonathan Issac.

Comparison: Al Horford
